Intel Announces Lunar Lake Chip
On June 4, Intel unveiled its highly anticipated next-generation laptop chip, Intel Lunar Lake, at Computex Taipei 2024, which is expected to be officially launched this fall.One of the highlights of the Lunar Lake chip is the integration of 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X memory directly into the chip package. Sony releases PS VR2 adapter for PCs
Sony announced the PlayStation VR2 adapter for PCs on June 3, which will allow PlayStation VR2 gamers to play thousands of Steam VR games. The PlayStation VR2 will still support 4K graphics, 110-degree field of view, fingertip touch detection, perspective view, and 3D sound when connected to a PC, but will not support HDR, headset feedback, and 3D sound. HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive trigger and haptic feedback other than vibration are not supported. Sony also announced Windows PC specifications for the PlayStation VR2 PC adapter. The adapter will officially launch on August 7 and will be priced at $59.99 USD.
Sigma Announces Art Series F1.8 Full-Frame Zoom Lens
On June 3, Sigma announced the 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN lens, which is the first full-frame F1.8 zoom lens with a constant F1.8 aperture and internal zoom structure, and a lens weight of 960g; the lens adopts Nano Multi-Perforation and Super Multi-Layer Coating technologies to drastically cut down on flare and ghosting; and the lens group adopts a 15-group, 18-element combination. The lens is equipped with a 15-group, 18-element lens, and the closest focusing distance is 30cm.
Spotify Increases U.S. Subscription Prices Again
Spotify, the streaming music service, announced on June 3 that it is raising its U.S. subscription prices again. After the price hike, the monthly fee for individual Premium Memberships will increase from $10.99 to $11.99 per month, with the two-person subscription going up to $16.99 per month (an increase of $2), and the family subscription going up to $19.99 per month (an increase of $3), according to Spotify. Student packages remain unchanged at $5.99. This is the second time in 12 months that Spotify has raised prices, with the official reason given as “to give users the best possible experience”.
