How to Sync Clipboard between Windows and iOS
Apple’s cross-device clipboard sync is very useful, for example, you can copy text on your iPhone and paste it directly on your Mac.
So after switching from Mac to Windows, I’ve been looking for a way to sync the Windows and iOS clipboards, and I’ve tried Quicker, clipboard-online, and other tools, but they didn’t work well.
Although the experience is not as smooth as Apple Eco and only supports text content, it is quite convenient to use. For the basic use of Quicker, please refer to the official “Software Tutorial”.
Next, I will introduce the solution from both iOS and Windows platforms.
iOS to Windows
Before proceeding, please make sure you have registered and logged into Quicker by email, then go to the action page of Quicker, follow the steps shown below to open the push service, then click the push tool to enter the member center, you can see the push verification code bound to your account, please keep it safe.
Next, use the “Send to PC” shortcut command on your iOS device. Once you enter the editing screen, follow the prompts to fill in your Quicker account email address and the push verification code you obtained earlier, so you can copy the text directly on your iPhone to run the shortcut command, or select the text to run it via a shared form and send the content to your Windows device.
If your Windows is typing, the system will paste the content directly to the cursor after receiving it. Note that the Quicker push server may run with an error after several consecutive runs, so wait a few seconds before trying again if such an error occurs.
To get a smoother experience, we can add the above shortcut command to “Assistive Touch” by going to iPhone Settings and then clicking “Accessibility > Touch > Assistive Touch > Customize Top Menu” to add the shortcut command. Once added, you can tap the Assistive Touch ball on the screen when you need to sync the clipboard and quickly run the shortcut command to send content.
It is also recommended to use a clipboard management tool on Windows, we recommend using the Quicker action “Clipboard”, it is very useful and does not require additional application, you can view, search, favorite history clipboard, and it will display a notification when the clipboard content has changed. After the action is loaded, remember to go to the Quicker settings screen and set the action to run automatically in the “Accessibility” module to prevent the clipboard data from being lost if you forget to start it.
Windows to iOS
To send the clipboard from Windows to iOS, you need to use the app Bark in addition to the aforementioned Quicker.
First, download Bark from the App Store and grant it notification permission, then go to the settings page and see the Device Token (this is the real Token of your current device, please keep it safe), copy the Token and use it now to send directly to the Windows clipboard as described above, and finally use the “Send to iPhone” action in Quicker. Finally, use the “Send to iPhone” action in Quicker, find the token variable in the “Variable Definition” on the right side of the editing screen, fill in the default value of the variable with the Device Token you just obtained, save and exit.
When syncing the clipboard, select the content to send (or use the content in the clipboard if it’s not selected) and tap to run the action to send the content to your iPhone. When you receive a notification from Bark, tap and hold it to copy the content directly. If the content is a URL, it will also open automatically. You can also view your message history in Bark without worrying about accidentally clearing a notification.
With these two parts, we’ve got Windows and iOS clipboard syncing, and while it’s not comparable to the cross-device experience of the Apple Family Bucket, some of you may have trouble understanding why you don’t just use the Apple Family Bucket – and maybe you’re right, but hopefully we can all be masters of our own devices without being kidnapped by one brand’s ecosystem.
