AVG Internet Security is easy to get up and running with a simple installation process. However, uninstalling AVG Internet Security is not an easy task:
I had AVG Internet Security on my Windows 10 PC, but for some reasons I decided to go with another security tool. Unfortunately I found it is impossible to uninstall AVG Internet Security entirely from my computer. I tried the usual way by uninstalling it from the Programs list in Control Panel, but it failed by giving me a window pop-up that says “Unexpected Error! Sorry we’ve run into a problem during installation. Error code: 0xe0010002). I tried the AVG Remover as well, but when I rebooted the machine, another error messages would pop up about AVG not being able to be executed and such. I even downloaded AVG again and tried to install it to see if there was some sort of built-in uninstaller but the installation gets stuck at 98%. I have tried everything I can do, but I just can’t remove AVG. Can you help me please?
Unlike other regular software that you can easily uninstall using Programs and Features in system Control Panel, AVG Internet Security removal process is not always successful. You should know that the processes involved in uninstalling an antivirus is more than those in regular utility software, e.g. identity verification, request authentication, configuration rollback, removing access and control settings, etc. If any part of this process goes wrong, you will get problems during uninstallation. That is why AVG also offers an additional tool like AVG Clear or AVG Remover Utilities to remove AVG security products. Although these removal tools claim to help you when you have a problem removing your current AVG, whether it’s a failed repair, reinstall or complete removal, in fact, they don’t work all the time. For example, you have AVG Internet Security installed but the AVG Remover cannot detect it.
Note: If you are having a hard time in uninstalling AVG Internet Security with the built-in Windows uninstaller or AVG Clear now, we recommend you uninstall it manually, or use a powerful third-party uninstaller instead.
